This is “Kotaka,” your concierge in Otakanomori. How are you doing? I would like to use the Misato Nagareyama Bridge toll road, which opens today (Sunday, November 26, 2023, at 15:00), and would like to share my impressions with you!

Well, it’s time to leave the Ichinoya Forest for the 3:00 p.m. opening. What? No way! My watch seems to have been delayed. There are only 10 minutes left until the opening! We can’t make it on foot, so we’ll have to fly.
Hmmm…mmmm..!
Yay!
I have been gaining weight lately, but I think I can manage to fly! Come on, let’s go!
The long-awaited Sango Nagareyama Bridge toll road is now open!
At exactly 3:00 p.m., the lanes that had been restricted by color cones were released, and many waiting cars proceeded down the blue-colored toll lanes.
This is the situation about one minute after the opening. The special atmosphere immediately after the opening is enveloped.
On both sides of the road, many construction workers who have been involved in the project for a long time are looking at the flow of cars with deep emotion.
Congratulations on your successful opening! Good night!”

Until now, it used to take more than an hour on weekends to get to IKEA or Costco in Misato from Otakanomori via the old Nagareyama Bridge, but now it takes only about 30 minutes.
With the opening of this road, the number of bridges between Misato City and Nagareyama City has increased to two, which will ease traffic congestion and further enhance business and tourist exchanges.
Sango Nagareyama Bridge tolls
This “Sango Nagareyama Bridge” over the Edogawa River costs 150 yen for regular cars, 100 yen for light cars and motorcycles, 20 yen for bicycles, and free of charge for pedestrians, and there is a spacious sidewalk for safe walking.
The Edogawa River flows for about 60 km, diverting from the Tone River in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture, and finally empties into Tokyo Bay. The river is home to many birds and fish, and depending on the season, you can enjoy taking pictures of the beautiful scenery of the riverbanks covered with yellow rape blossoms.
We have arrived at the toll booth. It doesn’t take long to get to this point.
Misato used to be a town that was close but took a long time to travel to, making it seem psychologically distant, but from now on it will be easy to come and go! Sango is home to Lalaport, Costco, and IKEA, and if you go a little further, Koshigaya is home to AEON Lake Town, one of the largest shopping malls in Japan, with approximately 700 stores. You will be closer to other attractive commercial facilities apart from Otakanomori.
The Sango Nagareyama Bridge Toll Road not only contributes to relieve traffic congestion and revitalize the community, but also allows you to enjoy nature. Please take advantage of it! Unfortunately, it was raining lightly today, but even so, the air was clear and very pleasant as I walked along the sidewalk. If the weather is fine, I think it is the best running course from “Otakanomori”.
Thanks for reading to the end. That’s all for this issue.
See you again!
