I went to the “Nagare Tetsu Beer Train” event in Nagareyama, which I have been curious about for a while.

Attraction of “Ryutetsu BEER Train
The “Ryutetsu BEER Train,” held every September, started in 2015 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Ryutetsu Railway Company, and is a rare event where visitors can enjoy “beer,” “food,” “trains,” and “music” all at once!
Location of “Nagareyama Station Rail Yard” and Nagareyama Otakanomori
The event will be held at the train depot adjacent to Nagareyama Station on the Ryutetsu Nagareyama Line, and the garage area, which is normally inaccessible, will be opened to the public for an extraordinary experience!
About the Ryutetsu Nagareyama Line
The Nagare-Tetsu Nagareyama Line is a single-track railroad connecting Nagareyama Station and Mabashi Station on the Joban Line with a total length of only 5.7 km, and has long been loved by local residents as the closest local line from central Tokyo. By the way, the train in the photo is nicknamed “Omelette Train,” a two-car train with a combination of yellow eggs and red ketchup!

The Ryutetsu BEER Train requires advance online ticket purchase. 3 types of tickets are available, each offering a different way to enjoy the train.
Limited admission tickets provide a comfortable experience. The “Regular Admission Ticket” holds 250 people per session, while the “Box Seat Admission Ticket” holds up to four people and is perfect for 140 people to spend a leisurely evening with family and friends.
Particularly popular is the “Premium Admission Ticket,” which allows up to 40 people to relax and enjoy a beer in the train car. You can enjoy special hors d’oeuvres in the train and spend a leisurely flow of time in the train.
The event will be held in three parts.
This time, “Kotaka” made a reservation for the slowest slot, the third part from 18:30 to 20:00. Now, it’s time to enter!
Wow, the train yard is so beautifully lit up at night! The jazz music that adds to the atmosphere of the venue is also wonderful!

At the venue, local craft beer and food using ingredients associated with Nagareyama and Matsudo will be served, and you can enjoy regional gourmet food.

Of particular note are the craft beers. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of local beers, including Nagareyama Beer, the first craft beer brewery in Nagareyama City, Matsudo Beer from Matsudo, and even Imokuniya craft beer made with ingredients produced in Chiba Prefecture.
Now, let’s compare the drinks! Gulp, gulp, gulp! Both Nagareyama Beer and Matsudo Beer are excellent craft beers. Please try them both and compare them with each other.
The pit area of the train yard, which is not usually open to the public, is a must-see event for train enthusiasts, as they can see up close the interesting substructure and technology of the trains.
In addition to beer, there is also a wide variety of gourmet food. The local ham and sausage artisan store Umami and the renovated old private house café Café & Bal Kuragokoro offer exquisite snacks. You will have the luxury of tasting beer with dishes from famous local restaurants, such as curry from Nagareyama Bombay and chicken dishes from Bistro!
It’s not just about food and beer. At the Ryutetsu Beer Train, live jazz and other music enlivens the venue, and the unique atmosphere of the rail yard further enhances the sense of the extraordinary.

This year, we could not sit on the Kotaka because the “premium admission ticket” was sold out, but it is nice to be able to have a meal while relaxing on the train.
There is also a regular standing drinking area and table seating available, making it easy for anyone to join in. Everyone seems to be having a great time in a relaxed atmosphere.
